At Beginnings Early Learners, we believe that every child is a unique and capable explorer, ready to discover the wonders of the world around them. Grounded in the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF), our curriculum is enriched and inspired by the innovative principles of the Reggio Emilia approach.

We know that children learn best through play! Our days are filled with opportunities for imaginative play, exploration, and hands-on experiences. Whether it’s building magnificent towers, pretending to be chefs in our home corner, or investigating natural materials, play is the engine of discovery.

A Focus on the "Hundred Languages of Children"

We embrace the idea that children explore and express their world in multiple ways—through voice, visual arts, movement, sound, and many more. We value and celebrate all these “languages” and provide opportunities for children to explore them fully. 

Long-Term Projects

Inspired by the children’s interests, we often engage in longer-term projects that allow in-depth exploration and learning. These projects might involve researching a particular animal, building a miniature city, or creating a collaborative artwork. 

Documentation as Learning

We carefully document the children’s learning journey through photos, videos, and their own words and artwork. This documentation not only makes their learning visible to families but also helps us, as educators, to understand their thinking and plan future learning experiences. 

Collaboration with Families

We see parents and families as vital partners in their child’s learning journey. We encourage open communication and collaboration to ensure a consistent and supportive learning environment for each child.
