About BEL Alfredton
The Family-Owned Childcare Centre in Ballarat's Fastest-Growing Suburb
Alfredton is Ballarat’s most populous suburb and one of Victoria’s fastest-growing communities. Amid a growing number of corporate childcare providers entering the area, BEL Alfredton stands out as something different: a locally owned, family-operated centre where you know the person running it by name.
Our centre at 2 Mia Street is led by director Maria, who is present, engaged, and genuinely invested in every family who walks through our door. At BEL Alfredton, we offer something Goodstart and the national chains simply can’t: personal accountability, community connection, and the warmth of a centre that has chosen Alfredton as its home, not just its postcode.
“The educators are incredible: caring, supportive, and focused on the children’s growth and safety. I couldn’t recommend BEL enough!”
— Quila Cervelli, BEL parent

Why Choose BEL Alfredton
Why Alfredton Families Choose BEL Over Other Ballarat Childcare Centres
In a growing suburb with more childcare options opening every year, here’s what makes BEL Alfredton the choice families stay with.
Family-Owned — Maria Is Here, Not a Head Office
BEL Alfredton is run by director Maria — personally on-site, personally engaged. Goodstart operates 660 centres from Brisbane. We operate from Mia Street. The difference shows in every interaction.
Childcare AND Kinder at One Address — No Split Drop-Off
Unlike kinder-only providers in Alfredton, BEL offers full day care and government-funded Kindergarten under the same roof. One place. One routine. One community for your whole family.
Reggio Emilia Curriculum — Explained Simply
Children are seen as curious, capable learners who drive their own discovery. Our Alfredton educators follow each child’s interests, not a rigid script, creating joyful learning that matters to your child specifically.
Fresh Chef-Prepared Meals — No Lunchbox Needed
Breakfast, morning tea, lunch, and afternoon snack, all freshly prepared by our in-house chef every day. Nutritious, delicious, and one less thing on your morning list.
StoryPark — Stay Connected to Your Child's Day
Photos, learning observations, and daily updates shared through StoryPark throughout the day. Maria and the Alfredton team are also directly contactable, not routed through a call centre.
A Community — Not Just a Service
BEL Alfredton families consistently describe a genuine sense of belonging. In a suburb that’s growing fast, we offer the rare thing that corporate providers can’t manufacture: a real local community.

What Families Say About BEL
BEL is a brilliant place for kids to develop their social skills. In the BEL is awesome outdoor playground and indoor rooms are equipped with lots of variety toys, furniture and things which help kids develop this independence, imagination and creativity. The educators are young ,active and positive and I can be calm about kids supervision. The most valuable is that fact that my toddler every morning including weekends is grabbing his bag and asks if he is going to BEL 🥰. I definitely recommend this place👍
Maria, Brooke and the educators are absolutely amazing. I have been part of the BEL for a year now and when my little girl started at 2& 6months they made us feel so welcoming especially my daughter who had a bit of separation anxiety they helped her so much in so many ways I can not fault the team AMAZING and Brooke goes beyond to help in any kind of way. Will be sad to leave next year keep up the amazing work guys appreciate you all
We absolutely love BEL! The educators are beyond amazing, they have helped my daughter settle in so fast and they genuinely care about building relationships with the children and their families to make sure the children feel comfortable. My daughter loves going and loves socialising with her little friends and her educators. The director is also so kind and really cares about the children and families that attend the centre. She goes above and beyond to make sure you have the best experience at the service ☺️
We highly recommend Beginnings Early Learners. I didn't realise we would be so happy after moving my daughter to this centre. She is a lot happier and does not seem to be upset when I leave. She is always excited to see me when I pick her up, but she never wants to go, always playing and showing me her adventures. The staff are lovely. Their communication is excellent, and we especially love all the photos on the Story Park app. You don’t feel so far away. My daughter is learning so much faster. Her understanding of her surroundings has improved. BEL is a team you can trust. I have no regrets at all about moving my daughter here
Highly recommend Beginnings Early Learning. My son started the kinder year half way through as we moved to Sunbury and he has thrived so much. They have taken my shy little boy and made him into a more confident and social little boy. He loves going everyday and adores his teacher. All the staff are friendly and you can tell they genuinely care about the children which is a big plus. Also the outside yard is shared which is great as you see siblings playing together and the older kids helping looking after the younger kids creating bonds.
Staff are very friendly and have gone above and beyond for our family. My 2 children from different age groups can spend lots of time together in the shared yard which we love and has also really helped my youngest child's transition into care. Staff are always sharing lots of photos and updates throughout the day, especially on a Wednesday when they are participating in the weekly dance class happy feet! My kids have created lots of friends and we've gained a greater sense of community from being involved in the centre. Would recommend to anyone seeking a happy environment for their little ones.
Highly recommend Beginnings Early Learners Sunbury. The staff have been amazing with my son,he has grown and learnt so much since attending the centre. They provide learning programs for each term, have fun and engaging activities for the children as well as excursions. Thank you so much BEL-sunbury.

Our daughter has been going to BEL since she is one and we have loved our experience there as a family for over two years now. The educators are incredible: caring, supportive, and focused on the children's growth and safety. What I love most about the centre is that I feel like my child connects with each of the teachers. It fills me with confidence that she's being cared for and loved while I'm at work. The activities challenge her, she's making lovely little pals and they offer amazing food for the kids. I couldn't recommend BEL enough!
